King Kong (2005)
PLOT SUMMARY:
Set in the 1930s, this is the story of a group of explorers and documentary filmmakers who travel to the mysterious Skull Island (near Sumatra) to investigate legends of a giant gorilla named Kong. Once there, they discover that King Kong is a real creature, living in a massive jungle where creatures from prehistoric times have been protected and hidden for millions of years.
i cant wait to see this yay next month!! naomi looks fabulous in it, its gonna be sucha awesome 2 hrs in the theatre! _________________ When I see the scene now, it seems so sensual, as if these two women really do love each other. But it didn't feel as authentic when we shot it. That's just as well. Otherwise, I would have had to marry Laura.

Last night I saw KING KONG. What a incredible experience! Peter Jackson has done it again. It is not only beautiful to watch it keeps you completely intrested. I can't wait till the DVD comes out. As for Naomi Watts, she did what she does best. Scream and use her face for extreme emotions. Everyone was excellent in this film. It was heart-warming while staying very much an action film. This is a must see!

I'm glad that you got to see this. I can't believe you had problems getting tickets. Here in the States most theaters have several sceenings of them in several theaters within each multi-plex. I agree it was wroth every penny though. It is a beautiful film to watch.

Have a great day to you ALL.

Film-goers nominate Kong for awards
It was snubbed by the Golden Globes, the Baftas, and the Oscars - but film-goers have nominated the blockbuster King Kong for five film awards.
Peter Jackson's film is up for Best Film, Best Director, Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Best Actor for Andy Serkis, and Best Actress, for Naomi Watts at the Empire Awards. Pride and Prejudice, Crash, Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, follow with four nominations each.
Up until now, King Kong has barely got a look in at this year's awards ceremonies, despite being seen by six times as many people as flavour of the month Brokeback Mountain.
It is only up for three awards at this Sunday's Oscars ceremony, compared to eight for gay cowboy movie Brokeback Mountain and five for Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line, race drama Crash and Steven Spielberg's Munich.
In this year's Empire Awards, King Kong will do battle with Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, War of the Worlds, Crash and Sin City for Best Film.
Best British Movie nominees are Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, The Descent, The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Pride and Prejudice, Stoned and Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire.
Best Actor nominees are Matt Dillon (Crash), Batman Begins star Christian Bale, Johnny Depp for Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and Viggo Mortensen (A History Of Violence).
Dillon's Crash co-star Thandie Newton is up for Best Actress, Keira Knightley (Pride & Prejudice), Renee Zellweger (Cinderella Man) and Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby) and King Kong star Watts.
Empire Magazine's Editor in Chief Colin Kennedy said: "This outstanding and diverse line-up is the only shortlist to celebrate the best movies of 2005, films that were not only widely seen by the ordinary public but cherished and remembered some months later."
The Sony Ericsson Empire Awards will be presented by Bill Bailey at a ceremony on March 13 at the Hilton London Metropole.
